Global readiness
Built in India, used from anywhere
Moduvanta serves institutions outside India as readily as inside it. Here is a straight answer on the things that actually matter when you buy across a border — where your data lives, how you pay, what compliance work is done versus in progress, and what support you can expect.
Where your data lives
Your workspace database and file storage are hosted in India — AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai), ap-south-1, through Supabase. The web application runs on Vercel with server compute in Mumbai and a global edge network for static content; a backend API service runs in Singapore. Transactional email is sent via Resend.
A choice of hosting region is not available today — every workspace is in Mumbai. Multi-region hosting is on the roadmap, not shipped. If data residency in a specific country is a hard requirement for you right now, tell us before you sign up.
How billing works
Plans are priced and charged in US dollars. Payments are processed by Razorpay, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator that supports international cards; for some transactions we also use Stripe. Currency conversion and any cross-border fees are handled by the payment provider and your card issuer. Card and bank details are entered directly with the processor and are never stored on Moduvanta’s systems. Other currencies and regional billing are available on request — talk to us.
Compliance: live vs. in progress
We are honest about the line here. Moduvanta does not yet claim full GDPR-style compliance.
| In place today | Per-tenant isolation enforced at the database (row-level security), TLS in transit, hashed passwords, a documented sub-processor list, and a published Privacy Policy and Terms. |
| In active progress | Self-service data export and deletion, formal retention schedules, and a customer-facing audit-log export (our Phase 5.2 data- governance work). Until it ships, export and deletion requests are handled manually at privacy@moduvanta.com. |
| Not yet | Third-party audit certifications (e.g. SOC 2, ISO 27001) and a standalone DPA template. Ask us where a specific requirement stands. |
See the Privacy Policy for the full sub-processor list and data-handling detail.
Support
Support is provided by people, not a bot. Our team is India-based and works business hours (IST); during those hours the typical first response time is 3–4 hours. Higher plans get priority in that queue. We do not offer instant or automated support, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
